Merging
1. It's hard to keep up 2 different blogs that talk about the same stuff.
2. Both are, fairly, BO-RING. (admit it)
3. I have way too many blogs on my hands.
4. It'll be easier with the template and all, since I've been meaning to change it...but haven't yet.
Yeahh...er, so that's why. Another thing, B1000 seems to exemplify ME more than BBT does (after all, I'm still obsessed w/ the bk). BBT is getting too, well, pointless, and B1000 actually does have a point.
So after tomorrow, you all will have to go to B1000 for more BB updates. That is, unless I get some vehement protestors that DEMAND and convince me to I stay put.

In which I talk of...well, random stuff.
Google Reader. What a handy
Butterfly Forest. Woohoo! Finished my album review. It'd be real nice of y'all to go check it out! Don't forget to check out the poll!
Kiki. The little rascal of a dog. She won't eat her doggie food; she'll only eat food off the floor, and when she does that....well, I hope none of you are eating something while reading this, but she...never mind. So this afternoon, she finally decided to eat her doggie food (reluctantly), with her tail right between her hind legs. She might as well grumble, too, while she's at it. *roll* Another thing; so in our house, the door to the backyard has a window, and near the door is Kiki's bed. So I went to the backyard to check out how my dad was doing (he's doing a little woodwork project), and decided to practice some Irish dance steps, since I'm going to Irish dance day camp starting tomorrow. Lo and behold, my canine starts barking at me from inside the house. Note well, my friends, that Kiki is like the little annoying sister in the movies and on TV that tries to do everything her older sister does. Yep, that's Kiki alright. She starts barking her head off at me as if to say, "Hey! What are you doing out there? I want to come out too! I want to Irish dance!" Oi, and have I told y'all about Kiki's aversion to the song "Memory", from the musical Cats? When I get in spazzy mode (which is often and somewhat frightening ;-) ), I start "bark-singing" "Memory", and, whaddya know, Kiki starts joining me. Like howling and barking along. I've recorded it...but it's awfully strange and I don't know how to put it on here.
Anyway, so that's that. For B1000 readers, I may make the blog public again, and I hope to have a post written up in a few mins.

YouTube, Netflix, and Lists
Anyway, I got a YouTube account! It's right here, so if you want to watch my fave vids or friend me, go right ahead and do so. Enjoy! And yes, that I am indeed subscribing to country music artists. *is very proud of self*
Anyone who gets movies from Netflix? I've seen so many movies already (I've been listing them) and, well, we've been getting a lot of cool stuff!
Speaking of lists, I've been making a ton of lists lately: favorite books, favorite movies, and how I compare to the typical teen (the last of which I found 25 MAJOR differences at least). If wanted, I can delight you all in lists in those (Netflix movies seen, favorite books, favorite movies, and the differences lists).
Another thing: I've been needing to change the template. I shall be doing that soon and try to post more on both here, B1000, and BF. Sorry for holding y'all up! :(
Last but not least, I have a sort of survey question for everyone: What's the best book that you've read this summer, not counting re-reads?

While I was gone...
Anyway, I was thinking of posting about this article on LRRH, but I didn't want to spawn any "controversy", so I hope this is ok to post here. I always thought that there should be age restrictions on books, but....well, what do y'all think? B/c I always hate it when I want to read a book and have to go through tiresome research to simply find out whether it's clean, so, personally, an age restriction (like MPAA ratings, if you're still confused) would be great for books.
Opinions?

Blogged out?
As for B1000....well, I shall try to post more on that this wkend, and for those of you who asked to be invited (Faith, Verity, Anilee, spider), I have sent all of you an invite. It's never too late to ask to be invited, so you can still contact me (or leave a comment). Thanks to all who asked to be invited. :-D
BF? I'm still working on the album review, and...well, I just have to finish it. Sorry for another long wait, you guys.
Oh yes, and LRRH? I'll still be going on, but I'm going to slow my visits. You know how often I used to go on before? Like 30-40 some times! Today? I only felt like going on once--I caught up with everything, and that was that. I'm still going to be responding to PMs and such that, but I just won't go on LRRH so much.
TTYL!

As anime would say, "To Whom Who Cares"...
Anyhow, if you read my latest comment on the below post, I've been thinking recently of making B1000 private. I most probably will, as the majority seems to not care for it too much. It'll be open all day today, but at night I'm making it private.
So if you want to keep updated on it, leave a comment on here, send me an e-mail, PM me on LRRH, just somehow inform me if you want to be a B1000 reader. I'm not going to automatically invite anyone, just to anyone who asks.
I've also been thinking about maing BBT private, too. I know, I've thought about it before, but I actually might this time.

Bliss!
Next, on B1000, I'm going to write another new post about fictional characters. Ooh, how fun! I hope y'all will stay in tune to B1000, b/c there will be a lot of interesting posts on there. I'm telling you, you don't want to miss it.
Another thing I've been wondering. I need everyone's help on it. Do you think I should move to B1000, since most everything I talk about is MOLD related? Opinions, please!

On the Fifth of July...
Anyhow...BB news is that I'm working on my movie review (thanks to SophieCouture, b/c of her comment on my blog I was reminded that I should really get to work on it. I'm sure most of you know what it is already, but for those of you who don't....well, it'll just be a surprise then.
After my review, I hope to work on my B1000 post on B1000. (sounds strange if you say it aloud *lol smilie*) Then, hopefully, I can write some more reviews (but not necessarily post them), and finish up Sisters Grimm #2: The Unusual Suspects. Wow, that bk is good! Even better than the first, I have to say. I'll do a review on that, too, of course.
So, since I have lots to do, and apparently this wk was Foreign Language week, I'll say "Au revoir! Adios! Aufweidersein (sp?)! Ahn-neeng-gah-say-yo! (Korean, btw)"...I've ran out of foreign languages.
[edit: my movie review is now published. Please stop by and take a look at it on Butterfly Forest!]

Happy Fourth of July!!!
Anyhow, so...wishing y'all a happy Fourth of July! I'm not doing much today, it's just me and my parents (and Kiki, of course), and just doing the usual: BBQ, putting out the flag (which we just did about half an hour ago, more or less), etc.
What about y'all? Also, what do y'all think of Blog of a Thousand Days?
[edit: something new I found--there are a total of 174 comments on this blog, 53 posts, meaning each post averages 3.2830188679245283018867924528302, whatever that number is. ;) )

If MOLD couldn't get any worse...
Wednesday, July 2, 2008
Schweet, schweet, schweet.
Oh my goodness. It was FANTASTIC! OK, so maybe I didn't have the best seat so I didn't get a chance at catching a guitar pick. And yes, the person behind me spilled wine on my seat. And yes, I was by myself. But, geez, were they GOOD!!!
They played 16 songs (one more than LeAnn Rimes did when I went to see her), and the ones I can list off the top of my head are "Baby Girl", "Speed of Life", "Want To", "Settlin'", "Everyday America", "Something More", "Who Says You Can't Go Home", "All I Want to Do", "County Line"...and a few more.
So...any Sugarland fans?

Ditzy Chronicles Part 2: The Alarm Clock
The ditzy part? I don't know how to use my alarm clock. Sad, yes. My alarm clock is pretty old, and I still don't know how to work it out. Finally, I figured it out, so after I got out of the shower a few minutes ago...well, I turned on the radio and listened to some country. Yep! And, yes, I was able to successfully turn it off.
*I knew this b/c (1) my mom owns the original "Home" by Michael Buble on her iPod (she wanted me to buy the song for her for Christmas a couple yrs ago) and (2) I subscribe to Country Weekly. YES, it is a country music magazine. *sigh* What can I say? Give me books, the Internet, and country music and I'm set to go!

OH. MY. GOODNESS. I. LOVE. THAT. BOOK. PERIOD.
So, I'm going to write up a schnazzy little (forgive me, my reviews aren't really little ;-) ) review on Butterfly Forest soon. *sigh* I love B1000!!!!!!!!

Other BB news...hm...oh, yes, I finished Part 1 of B1000 last night and I'm in Part 2 now! I started really reading it on Monday (shows you how slow I am), so hopefully I'll be able to do a review on it next wk on Butterfly Forest! Stay tuned! :-D

A Very, Very Good Day
**First, after getting up at 11 am, we went to the post office, then to the library and I got an application to be a volunteer!
**Second, after some grocery shopping (where we also bought this one ice cream bar that I was hyperventilating over b/c I hardly ever see it), we went to Chick-fil-A, my favorite fast food place
**While eating lunch at home (at 4 pm), I watched Castle in the Sky!! Yay!
**Just a few mins ago, I went on Amazon, and WHATTYA KNOW? They recommend me RR and the new Sugarland CD, Love on the Inside!!!!!!! I was hyperventilating terribly; gack, I'm so excited.
**On a final note...I'm going to a Carrie Underwood concert in November!!!!!!!!! w00t! w00t! Gah, if only I could win those free tickets.
Anyhow, *happy dancing* 'tis a very good day, esp compared to the craziness a few wks ago. :P

Half-Way Reviews: Mia, CCB Part 1
OK, so for Mia. To be honest, I had very low expectations for this bk. It had kinda low ratings on Goodreads, so I didn't think this would be as good as the other AG bks. But I was surprised! Well, first off, it's kid lit, but it's really quite good! Laurence Yep did a fantastic job w/ the narrating; you could almost hear a 10-year-old girl narrating this story! Sometimes some of the dialogue does sound a wee bit younger or a wee bit older than what a 10-year-old says, but other than that, this bk is cute. This one even has some humor that you just can't resist chuckling to. So far I'm on Ch 6 (I think), literally half way, but I'm really liking it so far.
Catherine, Called Birdy. I finished the first chapter in about half an hour, which is kinda short considering how slow I usually read. Either I'm finding everything funny, or I'm just reading a lot of funny bks, b/c this is also quite humorous and comical. The narrating is also terrific; you forget that this is written by a modern-day author and not by a Medieval teen. I'm quite pleased with this one. The bk did fool me: it may look like a thin little bk, but it's not a light read. Or maybe I'm just too slow. ;-)

Author Meme!!!
Uhh...first, before I begin, it's best that you know that I'm going to cheat and look at this list of favorite authors I made up on Word a few days ago, so my answers aren't exactly..."improvised".
Rules
Link to the person that tagged you, post the rules somewhere in your meme, answer the questions, tag six people in your post, let the tagees know they’ve been chosen by leaving a comment on their blog, let the tagger know your entry is posted.
Who’s your all-time favorite author and why?
Ay, yi, yi...hard, hard, hard. *runs to look at list* Probably Jane Austen or Roald Dahl or Shannon Hale [edit: and all the ones mentioned below].
Who was your first favorite author and why? Do you still consider him/her among your favorites?
My first fave author would be...Tomie dePaola. How can you not laugh and love Strega Nona? Or those 26 Fairmount Avenue books? They ROCK.
Who’s the most recent addition to your list of favorite authors, and why?
After carefully looking over my list, I'd have to say Shannon Hale. Well, I just recently read PA several months ago, and that was the very first I read from her, so she is my latest, most recent fave author. Or perhaps Jacqueline Wilson goes second; she's a pretty recent addition, and I really want to read all the rest of her books. Double Act was awesome.
If someone asked you who your favorite authors were right now, which authors would first pop out of your mouth? Are there any you’d add on a moment of further reflection? Shannon Hale...Jane Austen, after some thought. I previously mentioned Roald Dahl and Tomie dePaola and Jacqueline Wilson...after cheating, how can I forget Edward Eager, Eleanor Estes, and E. Nesbit and Kate DiCamillo? *le gasp* And J.K. Rowling!!! Duh!!!
I tag....*prays that they haven't been tagged yet* Delaney, anime, Maggs, Summermoon, and Anilee!

Whatcha readin'?
Anyhow, so I was on Goodreads, and I know there are some of you (like me) who read a ton of books at the same time. But really, what book are you really, intently reading? Like what is the first book on that stack of books that you have waiting for you that you pick up and just start reading? And what do you plan on reading next?
Sorry, it's just a really random question that I just had to kinda blurb about. Oh yes, and anime helped me figure out how to make this: ♥. Oi, why couldn't I figure out to use the key pad on the side? Other symbols you can make: ☺☻♦♣♠•◘○.
You can tell I'm bored.

BB Updates!
***Layout--Yes, I think I will have a new layout, and I have an idea of which one it will be (from Pyzam). Stay tuned for it!
***Quote of the Week--I'm going to try to have a quote of the week on my header. It will be changed every Sunday afternoon (or Saturday night, depending on my schedule that week), and it will always be a very MOLDy quote I found from Goodreads or Wikiquote, like the one above.
***"Posh People's Brilliant Blogs"--Instead of putting your names, I'm going to put the title of your blog instead, and add some new ones. Some links on there will NOT be found on here. The reason is because I'm going to link review blogs to Ripsnorter, so don't freak out or get mad at me if you don't see your blog on here--most likely, it'll be on RR. Also, I think I'll be shortening the title to something like..."Posh Blogs". The word "posh" just sounds so...posh!
***"Awesome Authors"--that's just a tentative title for another new section. This will have links to my fave author's site, or at least list them (if they don't have a site). Though the title is tentative. Which is better: "Awesome Authors" or "Inspiring Authors"? Or should I do "writers" instead? Opinions, s'il vous plait!

YAY!!!!!! My Result on the Classic Hollywood Actress Quiz
Stylish, sophisticated, subdued and always impeccable, both in dress and demeanor, that's Audrey and that's you, too. The actress won people over with her onscreen skills and her off-screen charity work helping children in need. She's the ultimate example of someone who is beautiful inside and out.
Want to rent some films starring Audrey? Check out Roman Holiday, Sabrina, My Fair Lady or Funny Face. Modern-day actresses you have a lot in common with are Natalie Portman, Joy Bryant and Penelope Cruz.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
w00t! Audrey Hepburn is my favorite actress of all-time! I've seen most all of her movies. I've taken quizzes like this before, and I always get her. My mom always says I sorta have the same little chin as she does; Audrey is also my mom's favorite actress, that she also thought about naming me Audrey! I'm so happy I got Audrey!!!!!!! :-D *happy dance*
[edit: the quiz can be taken here.]
Nota Bene
BTW, although the last post was about my b-day and I had that up forever was totally on accident. I meant to post more on MM after my b-day, but I couldn't use the computer after that. Even though it may have looked like I was trying to spread the news about my b-day (which I was not at all trying to), it was a complete accident. I only posted that b/c the info on it was funny and I thought that the perfect day to post it would be my b-day. So I'm really sorry about that again. I have to check out y'all's blogs. *goes off to do so* ;-)
Thanks!
Music Mania 2008: Day 3
That Song In My Head~Julianne Hough
You were hangin' your feet off the tailgate of Billy Don's ford
I grew up in this little bitty of town never seen you before
You were swayin' in the moonlight while the radio played
And I've,
I've had that song in my head all day, yeah
It was a sweet southern soulful thing that got me down deep
You caught me starin' at you but your smilin' back at me
Started slingin' that air guitar
Man, you sure can play
And I've had that song in my head all day
[Chorus]
I don't know who sings it
I keep searchin' the radio
I just wanna hear it
So I can watch that video
I got in my head of a blue-eyed boy
Dancin' in the bed of a two-tone ford
Oh lord it's love I just can't say
But I've,
I've had that song in my head all day, yeah
I said "How 'bout an autograph for your, your biggest fan?"
You wrote your name and your number in the palm of my hand
My heart and that big bass speaker were thumpin' away
And I've, I've had that song in my head all day
[Chorus]
Been in my head all day
A Very Pointless Post
So, like you should like say this like in a like Valley girl like accent because like it makes it like more like funner. Like why do like people like say like "like" like all the like time? I mean it like is like so like really like annoying. Like one day can we like not like say like "like" like at all? I mean like please like peoples.
Hehe, *clears throat* ahem. That was sorta funny. Anyhow...I'm so behind on RR reviews. Sorry, everyone! I promise I will try to do schedulized (if that's a word) posts from now on so that there is a new review more often. I'm working on a "Ratatouille" review at present, though for some reason, my "creative juices" aren't flowing very well. *sigh* Maybe I can switch off between that one and the "Coco" album review. Or write some of Gracechurch Girls. *goes off to write*
Music Mania 2008: Day 2
Baby Girl~Sugarland
They say in this town, stars stay up all night,
Don’t know, can’t see ‘em for the glow of the neon lights
And it's a long way from here to the place where the home fires burn.
Well it's two thousand miles and one left turn.
[Chorus]
Dear Mom and Dad,
Please send money, I’m so broke that it ain’t funny.
I don't need much, just enough to get me through.
Please don’t worry 'cause I'm all right,
I’m playin’ here at the bar tonight.
This time, I’m gonna make our dreams come true.
Well, I love you more than anything in the world...
Love,
Your baby girl
Black top, blue sky, big town full of little white lies.
Well, everybody’s your friend: you can never be sure.
They'll promise fancy cars and diamond rings, all sorts of shiny things,
But, girl, you’ll remember what your knees are for.
[Chorus]
I know that I’m on my way.
I can tell every time I play.
And I know it’s worth all the dues I pay,
When I can write to you and say
Dear Mom and Dad,
I’ll send money. I’m so rich that it ain’t funny.
It oughtta be more than enough to get you through.
Please don’t worry 'cause I’m all right,
I’m stayin’ here at the Ritz tonight
Whaddya know, we made our dreams come true.
And there are fancy cars and diamond rings,
But you know that they don't mean a thing.
They all add up to nothin' compared to you.
Well, remember me in ribbons an' curls.
I still love you more than anything in the world...
Love,
Your baby girl.
Ah yeah. Your baby girl.
(Dear Mom and Dad,
Please send money, I’m so broke that it ain’t funny. Don't need much, just enough to get me through.)
Your baby girl.
(Please don’t worry 'cause I'm all right,
Playin’ here at the bar tonight.
Ooh, ooh, ooh.)
Dreams come true.
Music Mania 2008: Day 1
Summer Girl~Jessica Andrews
Other MMs will have the whole lyrics, but since I myself don't really care for it (it's the music I like!), I'm just going to post the chorus and the rap/bridge (my favorite part) here.
Chorus:
'Cause I'm just a summer girl
I wear my flip flops
When I let my hair down
That's when the party starts
Who needs a boyfriend
I got my girl friends
When we get together
The summer never ends
Yeah yeah, oh oh oh
Rap/Bridge:
Everybody needs a little bit of sunshine
Everybody needs time to unwind
Everybody's got to have a good time
(I'm just a summer girl)
Everybody get up on your feet
Everybody got to shake your body
Everybody got a right to be free
(I'm just a summer girl)
(Oh, oh, oh, oh)
(Oh, oh, oh, oh)
Kinda Scary, But Really Cool!
You feel like you're falling backwards
Like you're slippin' through the cracks
Like no one would even notice
If you left this town and never came back
You walk outside and all you see is rain
You look inside and all you feel is pain
And you can't see it now
[Chorus]
But down the road the sun is shining
In every cloud there's a silver lining
Just keep holding on (just keep holding on)
And every heartache makes you stronger
But it won't be much longer
You'll find love, you'll find peace
And the you you're meant to be
I know right now that's not the way you feel
But one day you will
You wake up every morning and ask yourself
What am I doing here anyway
With the weight of all those disappointments
Whispering in your ear
You're just barely hanging by a thread
You wanna scream but you're down to your last breath
And you don't know it yet
[Repeat Chorus]
Find the strength to rise above
You will find just what you're made of, you're made of
[Repeat Chorus]
One day you will
Oh one day you will
Random Question...
Okey-doke, so I have this fictional character tag thing coming up, but before I post it, I was wondering what fic characters I remind y'all of? Like when you see me on LRRH or on here or wherever, what character from where do you see me as?
Thanks, everyone! :-D
The Ditzy Chronicles Part 1
Before I start, I may want to explain exactly what this is. This is about the things that I, the ditz, have recently figured out. Oh, yes...
COLA is actually a generic term. Pepsicola has nothing to do with Coca-Cola.
WHAT?! OK, so I always knew that Pepsi and Coke were enemies, but since when is Cola a generic term? Tell me!!!!! *roll*
Wow, that was actually a really short post. ;-)
Something I Noticed...
Something I've noticed lately is that....most things (mind that I wrote the word "MOST") that I first think that I'm going to totally HATE I end up getting OBSESSED with. Weird, huh? So I decided to make a little list of those things. I put them in chronological order that I got obsessed with them. ;-)
1. Harry Potter: OK...so, I really did not like it at all. Honestly, the books came out when I was 4, and I started reading chapter books a couple years later, but...I think if my mom hadn't bought the books just because, I don't think I'd ever pick them up even when I was able to read them. (sorry if that didn't make any sense) Look at me now: I'm freakishly obsessed with HP; I've memorized the HP trio's full names (including middle name), as well as their b-days. *roll*
2. Country music: Yep, this is on the list, too. Well, when I was little, my mom would say how much she didn't like country, so I just agreed with her just because she was my mom. What I didn't know was that LeAnn Rimes' "How Do I Live" and Faith Hill's "Breathe" and "This Kiss" were country (and I loved those songs when I was little!). So...now, as you probably know, I love, love, love, love country music like crazy.
3. iPods and iTunes: Even in 6th and 7th grade, I had a little grudge against peoples with iPods. Until I got my first two years ago. And then...the rest is history! :-)
4. Shannon Hale (more specifically, PA): Well, I think it's just easier if you read this explanation (read Ch. 3) then me to retell the whole story. :-?
5. LRRH: Seriously, guys, I have a confession to make: I did not like LRRH at all when I first went on. Honest to goodness. I dunno why, I guess when I clicked the PA subforum, the whole thing seemed too whacked out to me (I know what y'all are gonna say: "speak for yourself!"), and all the siggie pics were all new to me. That was in Nov 2007. A few weeks later, I went on again, and I liked it better and better each time I went on (OK, well the Great Crash of 2008 prevented me from going on for a week or so) until I finally decided to join. Maybe I'm just a little obsessed with it.... ;-) Well, I've made terrific friends on the forum, and I feel so totally lucky to be an LRRHer, where geeks rule the world! muahahahahahah :-D
Mother's Day Visit
Anyhow, we got a strange visit from a neighbor around midday. This neighbor didn't come to our front porch. In fact, this neighbor appeared at our backyard, and didn't even knock on the door. I thought you guys would like to see this friend of ours, so I took some pictures:
Usually, these fellas stick to the wall in our backyard and do push-ups, but this guy was a bit braver than the rest of his kinsmen. In the third and fourth pictures, you can even see that our neighbor brought along a friend: a little bird.
Hehe, something to enlighten y'all! Happy late Mother's day to all mothers out there (we wouldn't be sitting here today without you!), and have a great weekend!
A MOLDy Meme (I think... ;) )
The Rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4.Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people and post a comment to the person who tagged you once you've posted your three sentences.
The nearest book I have with me right now is Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson.
I asked him whiter we should flee; and as he told me "to the Lowlands," I was a little better inclined to go with him; for, indeed, I was growing impatient to get back and have the upper hand of my uncle. Besides, Alan made so sure there would be no question of justice in the matter, that I began to be afraid he might be right. Of all deaths, I would truly like least to die by the gallows; and the picture of that uncanny instrument came into my head with extraordinary clearness (as I had once seen it engraved at the top of a peddler's ballad) and took away my appetite for courts of justice.
It seems like I'm rambling, but I'm not--Mr. Stevenson is; that seriously was three sentences in one whole paragraph...it just so happened that was the longest paragraph (and three sentences) on pg 123. :roll:
Anyhow, I tag...animeactress, Faith, ennagirl, Fantasy, and....Maggs! Y'all are up (unless you were tagged already...)!
BB Survey
As you probably can already tell by the title, I'm sort of taking a survey. I'd just like to know what I can fix about my blog, like if there's something missing to it. Just comment (you can leave a comment as anonymous, I really don't care as long as I get responses). Positive and negative feedback is greatly welcome. If you're not sure what you should say, you can cover these areas (do not limit yourself to this list if you have other things you'd like to say):
*Is the content to your liking?
*How is the length?
*Do I write too much unnecessary stuff (ie: are my posts "blah blah blah" to you)?
*Should I post more often?
*What do you love--and hate--about The BB Times?
*Do you wish I'd show more of my writings?
*If you can change anything about The BB Times (vocab usage, layout, writing style, etc and whatever), what would it be? (If there is more than one thing, tell me EVERYTHING.)
Kay-doke, that's all I want to know. Basic BB updates are...that I'm trying to aim for finishing 7 books in 4 days. Wish me luck! (and I shall do the 20 good books thingy-ma-bobber)
Extremely Random Stuff
So, since I've been away at HW-land for a week, I'm sort of in an interesting mood. So I'll list the stuff I'm thinking about, what I have to do, etc.
-I feel so loved. Not that I'm an ingrate or anything, but when I got my new e-mail, I didn't do anything with it unti today. I mean, I found how many people I keep in contact with daily (or often) and added their e-mails in my Contacts and I ended up with 33 people! And I can't forget the other friends and family I have in my life who don't have an e-mail or do have an e-mail but I don't know it. Plus, I got my first e-mail on that one from a real human. Not a computer bot like Goodreads, but a real human PERSON. Wow.
-I really adore the sayings, "wow and soil", "grr and foil" (animeactress' spin on our favorite interjection), "tree sap", and "Kartik the Daffodil". I also enjoy calling anime "Kartika".
-I'm also learning to do this little wavy finger thing that anime is very talented at.
-I'm a little stressed, but it's the good kind of stress, the one that keeps you busy. Eustress is the scientific name for it (learned that in Health). If you've heard "Nothin' Better to Do" by LeAnn Rimes, I know I always have something better to do. With that said, I shall commence with my handy-dandy to-do list:
1. Finish HW (OK, well, that's not really fun, but....it does keep me busy; I'm trying to be a bit optimistic here!)
2. Clean and organize old papers from this year and last (yes, I have last year's papers still; grr...)
3. Finish reading stuff for school (Kidnapped and Left to Tell)
4. Write, write, write (as well as re-write; I never though about re-writing until I started recently, and it's all because of Shannon Hale)! And about writing and stuff....so I know I promised you guys a plot summary of the novel that was inspired by LRRH-ers. Well, it'd be helpful if someone can tell me if I can password protect it (it would also be helpful with rants). If you're confused what I mean, then go to Ani Isilee's blog. I know she has WordPress, but is there any way that I can do that with Blogger?
5. Post my brand-new Ripsnorter Review layout. Yes, it will be slightly revised, and made better than ever. Believe me you.
6. Afterwards, revise and repost my PA review on RR. Then, post this on Goodreads. w00t! w00t! (first time I used the 2007 M-W Word of the Year, seriously)
7. Must....buy....songs....from....iTunes. Yep, I'm in that phase again where I start actually getting sick of all the songs on my iPod and must purchase more songs from iTunes. Then I listen to those songs 2 billion times and then I start re-liking the other songs on my iPod. (wow, I really sounds like a brat there; sorry! :( )
8. I'm setting up my Project Playlist! Yay! I've only friended two of y'all (Taiger, mimagirl), so if you have a Project Playlist account, e-mail me, PM me on LRRH (with your e-mail), or just comment so that I can buddy you or vice versa. More than likely, your playlist is put on private, so I can't search you.
Also, I've added a new feature: at the beginning of every post, I've added "Song in My Head", which sort of explains itself.
Well, since I do have a long to-do, I shall be off! Ta-ta for now!
Lots of Love,
bookbutterfly
Attention, Shaniacs!
I, the "Editor-in-Chief" of BB Times, am very pleased to announce (after my long, stressful break--isn't that an oxymoron?) the release of a new Shannon Hale book. No, it is not Rapunzel's Revenge, nor is it Forest-born, but it is... *drum roll, please*
ENNA BURNING in KOREAN!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantabulous or what, my friends? Indeed, after almost four years of selling well in the U.S., EB was released in Korea, April 15, 2008! Take a good look at the cover: (I'm not quite sure whether the black frame is there in the cover, but I doubt it)
EB is the third Shannon book to be translated and published in Korea. The first is actually Princess Academy (directly translates into Princess Academy), which came out July 16, 2007. Second was The Goose Girl (in Korean, Goose-Keeper Princess, but if you try to translate this using one of those computer translators, you'll get Princess Hitting a Goose...oh dear...), which was released December 15, 2007. The official title (translated) is The Princess's Maid and the Secret of Fire. Sorry, Enna, but you aren't mentioned in the title.
And I learned something. Dictionary.com is so funny! If you translate: 프린세스의 시녀와 불의 비밀 (EB in Korean), it comes out to this: "maid and sudden secret of phosphorus three".
Now...names. Very important. English names don't translate into something into Korean that actually mean something, but I thought I'd experiment with Dictionary.com, just to see what they say.
Shannon Hale: 섀넌 헤일 (pron: Shah-nun Hay-ill; Dictionary.com says: "The Hale whom it spreads out"--lovely, eh?)
Ani: 아니 (pron: Ah-nee; Dictionary.com says: "It knows")
Isi: 이지 (pron: Ee-gee; Dictionary.com says: "Intelligence"; so I guess if you say "Ani-Isi", Dictionary.com would think that you're saying "It knows intelligence.")
Enna: 에나 (pron: Eh-nah; Dictionary.com says: "Enna"--surprise, surprise)
Leifer: 레이퍼 (pron: Lep-pah; Dictionary.com says: "The ladles"--don't ask why)
Miri: 미리 (pron: Mee-ree; Dictionary.com says: "In advance"--which is sort of ironic, because in the PA cover above, Miri is in front of all the rest of the girls)
Peder: 페더 (pron: Peh-der; Dictionary.com says: "Feather"--they rhyme! Kind of reminds me of the linder hawk...)
Olana: 올라나 (pron: Oh-lah-nah; Dictionary.com says: "It rises"--maybe her temper in the beginning of PA does? ;) )
Mt. Eskel (called Eskel Mountain): 에스켈 (pron: Es-kehl, then with the Korean word for mountain; Dictionary.com says basically the same thing)
Danland: 댄랜드 (pron: Dahn-lahnd; Dictionary.com says "The land which it puts"--OK, puts...what???)
For more info, you can go to: http://www.openkid.co.kr/author/author_view.asp?id=011688&svrt=00. It's all confusing and everything, but the first red link is PA, the second is GG, and the third is EB. If you click on them and scroll down, you can see one of the illustrations in the books. Yes, Korean readers get Shannon books with ILLUSTRATIONS. So lucky! And the drawings are very cool and awesome. I'm so jealous!!!!!!!
Shan-fans and Shaniacs, isn't it a great, happy feeling when you know that the international Shannon love is spreading? ;)
Lots of Love,
bookbutterfly :D
iTunes Dilemma!
-Famous in a Small Town (Miranda Lambert; the ending is fabulous)
-I Don't Want To (Ashley Monroe, whom I would add as one of my "Amazing Artists" links, but her official site is MySpace; that's the artist who I was talking about on LRRH in case you were wondering)
-Save the Best for Last (Vanessa Williams; the very first song I heard when I was baby, which was why I bought it)
-Oh Love (Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood; oh me gosh, EVERY COUNTRY FAN MUST BUY!!!!!!!!! especially if you like Carrie Underwood)
-But I Do Love You (LeAnn Rimes; you will see that I went into this LeAnn craze)
-Looking Through Your Eyes (LeAnn Rimes; the video is so cute, as this was a soundtrack for...*thinks* The Quest for Camelot; I lied, I thought, couldn't remember, then had to look it up)
-Soon (LeAnn Rimes; meh...)
-Tic Toc (LeAnn Rimes; used to like it, but...kind of strange now, but I still like LeAnn's new stuff)
-Til' We Ain't Strangers Any More (LeAnn Rimes and Bon Jovi; *gasp* OK, so Bon Jovi did a duet w/ the fantabulous--used it again!--Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland which was wonderful, and he did it with LeAnn Rimes and...can't describe! YOU MUST CHECK IT OUT. I didn't care for it at first...but now it's ringing in my head like crazy)
-I'm Only Me When I'm With You (Taylor Swift; TS craze coming...I play this song on the guitar and it is one of my faves from her!)
-Invisible (Taylor Swift; meh...it's ok, I love the beginning, but the song is a wee bit weak and kind of repetitive of her others songs on the album)
-A Perfectly Good Heart (Taylor Swift again; so I didn't really care for it when I bought it, I only bought these 3 b/c they were limited edition and TS, but...now I'm really liking this song and must look up the chords to play it!)
-Santa Baby (Kellie Pickler; this was during Christmastime, and Kellie is probably the best AI contestant that didn't win)
-Will You Dance With Me (Julianne Hough; the DWTS pro turned country singer is FANTASTIC. I can't wait until her first album comes out! I'v heard that people who hate country listen to this.)
-Before He Cheats (a piano instrumental to the Carrie Underwood song; this was for this project; I explain here)
-Down (Miranda Lambert; me luv this song, and it scares me how much it's like this one song I wrote--both tune and lyrics--and I didn't even know this song when I wrote mine!)
-Love Song (Sara Bareilles; wonderful! trying to figure out the piano notes myself though)
So my questions for my lovely blogging friends are this:
1. Do you like or have heard any of the songs I mentioned above?
2. What movie do you think I will review and are you excited for it?
What's New at The BB Times
Ah, so, anyways...I'm not really into the mood for Random Remixes right now. But...I thought it'd be nice to let everyone know that I'm going to do my first movie review, but it will not be on here...it will be on another blog on WordPress instead. I haven't gotten started (and I want to ask my dad for permission before I do anything), but I will get both the blog and review done. Hopefully, it will get done tomorrow, and I will edit this post with the link to the review, but on this blog, I will set up a poll to see whether y'all like it!
I already have a blog title in mind...as well as the movie I'm reviewing! Any guesses as to what movie it will be?
Also, I shall get a Project Playlist account soon, so...if you flat out hate country, I suggest you mute your speaker. (muahahahahahaha) But it won't be ONLY country. I will definitely throw in Anna Nalick, KT Tunstall, Michelle Branch, Jewel, Norah Jones...soft pop and good rock. And tons and tons of country. ;) (Darn it, I wish I could use LRRH smilies here! :( I guess I will just have to make do. *sighs*)
Over the weekends during school, I will try to post something new everyday, since I've got a couple things to ramble about! :D But for now...
Lots of Love and Randomness Forever,
Random Remix Pt 2
Yes, I know I write long stuff, animeactress. But it's my nature. I am a rambler. And thanks to Summermoon and anyone else who voted on my poll! I'm glad you liked the song, "Radio". I may post another song or two soon, but I'm not too sure yet. Also, special thanks to hwalk, who finds humor in my writings. I'm still wondering...what part was funny? Was it my Shaniac conversion story? ;) I'm not usually the one making the jokes. I'm usually the one nearly snarfing at lunch time and breaking tables because I crack up too much.
Ch. 1: Polls
OK, so I have four polls. Four. I mean, who doesn't like polls, right? The first is about which fictional character I look like. If you think I look like another character, please comment and tell me who. The second is about which fictional character I am like personality-wise. If my personality is like a different character than the ones I put, please comment and tell me who. I can't wait to see how these will turn out!
So I was inspired by Taiger to write about what I'm writing now. Except that I included a summary. I'm not sure what y'all think of them, so please vote on my poll. Put it this way: all nine of those titles are on a bookshelf. Which story sounds most appealing to you that you would pick it up, take it to the counter, and buy it? Also, I'm stuck on whether to do a book, movie, or CD review. Any guesses as to what book I would review? Or movie? Or CD?
Ch. 2: Tags
I am pleased to say that my "Crazy Kid" tag game is going fine. I've been reading them on our friends' blogs, and I find them hilarious, crazy, amusing, terrific. Thanks to everyone who has been keeping them alive!
Ch. 3: Kiki Update
Kiki's case of Doggy Depression lifted. Hurray! So we like to do voice-overs for her--with an English Cockney accent. It's quite cute, actually. So here was the scene: late afternoon at my house. I'm lying down on the carpet, rather bored, and Kiki decides to lay down right next to me, with her whole fuzzy right arm over mine. And a random thought occurred...
Me: Kiki, are there any vulgarities in your language of Doggish? (I had to repeat this several times, since the voice-over didn't get the cue. I got louder and louder and louder each time.)
Kiki: Oh, yes, we do.
Me: What kind of vulgarities?
Kiki: Oh, well, you know how when you put someone down, you refer to them as a dog? Well, we do the same about humans.
Me: Er, what do you mean?
Kiki: Well, if we don't like someone, we say, "YOU SON OF A HUMAN!!!!!!!"
Me: (cracking up so much that I roll around on the floor) An S.O.H.!
(Kiki then gets up, alarmed. My mouth is open laughing, and then the dog snorts, well, snorts doggy saliva spray.)
Me: AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (continues to scream like Lucy van Pelt from Peanuts, runs to the bathroom, spits out in the sink, rinses mouth) HYDROGEN PEROXIDE!!! CARBON DIOXIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! (commences with a random spurt, then goes to tell my dad the foresaid event, while cracking up the whole time. Afterwards, I bring out one of Kiki's mats, have her "roll" on it, and wrap her up. I called it an egg roll. Then my dad called it a "perro burrito".)
So that was my random day. *sighs* And then I went to play guitar and my fingers were hurting when I typed up some Spanish homework even after 2 or 3 hours later.
What a good day. :D
Lots of Love and Randomness,
bookbutterfly
PS: How do y'all like the video of the week? :)
Random Remix Pt 1
First off, I'd like to thank everyone who read my review, took my poll, and/or left comments. I hope you enjoyed it, and expect more to come. :D By the way, did anyone try what I like to call "Spoiler Q" (named after our genius friend), the thing where you highlight the spoilers and the lettering comes out? When I first tried it right after I posted, I LOVED IT. Very awesome, Q! Also, I wish a Happy Late Easter to everyone! Hope your Sunday was joyful and peaceful!!!!!!!!
Ch 1: What in the eck is Random Remix?
RR, as I call it, is basically random stuff in my life. B/c everyone's life is random, right?
Ch. 2: Did you just say "eck"?
Yes, I did. I have a handy-dandy dictionary of BBian words:
cheese: (cheez) not the food, but a replacement of the word "sheesh"
eck: (ehk) same meaning as a word with those 3 letters but you add "h" to the beginning
eked: (ee-k-t) same meaning as "freaked"; so when I saw "eked out" it means the same as "freaked out"
tuppid: (tup-pid) same meaning as the word with the same spelling, except delete the extra "p" and add "s" to the beginning
Ch. 3: Shaniac Conversion Story
As promised in my PA review, I would tell how I found out about Shannon Hale. It was in the year of 2005. I was hungry for another book to buy (as usual) in those Scholastic Catalogues from school. I looked over one book...the title was...Princess Academy! I briefly read the summary. I didn't really get it, something about tutoring princesses, I guess. I dismissed it and thought it was one of those Disney books that was for 8-year-olds. (The pastel cover fooled me, you see.) Two years pass...my mom assigned me articles to read that summer from Newsweek, one of my favorites being one about Jane Austen. They mentioned something about a book called Austenland or other, something about a lady obsessed with the Colin Firth Mr. Darcy. Sounded funny, but it was an adult book. I didn't put two and two together. A few months pass...I was bookshopping on Amazon like crazy, and then they recommended me several books. Princess Academy, one of them read. A little bell rang in my head, but the cover looked...different. It was darker, had just one girl on it. And I clicked on it, and read the summary. It sounded intriguing, so I added it to my ever-growing wishlist. I wanted to see what other books the author of PA had written, so I looked it up. They all sounded so good, so I immediately added them. A few weeks later, we were going to our fun trips to B&N. I conjured up a list of books on a Post-it, and...couldn't find any of them (I was in the Kids' Section). Except one: PA. And that's how it all began........
Ch. 4: Crazy Things I Did As a Kid
So, I'm going to start my own tagging game.
Tagged by: Me
Rules:
1. Follow this format
2. Copy/Paste the rules
3. State who tagged you and add a link to their blog
4. Write 5 crazy things you did as a little kid
5. Tag 5 people
Crazy Things:
1. I was convinced that I had made up the word "important" and I loved that word
2. I almost electricuted myself when I stuck my mom's tweezers into an electrical outlet
3. I "songwrote" at the age of 3; I watched my mom sing to instrumentals, and I thought she made them up, so I thought I'd be cool and do the same thing. Except that my mom sang words to a real song, and I sang....words to an unknown song
4. The reason why I write with the pen/pencil leaning on my forefinger instead of my middle is b/c I got confused with the fingering when I would watch my parents write. I mistakened the middle for the fore.
5. When I was little, I'd tell my parents "I'm hungry" when I really meant "I'm bored".
I tag: animeactress, Summermoon, Leanna, Taiger, and Anilee.
Ch. 5: Miri Braids
You're probably thinking, now what's she going to say next? You've probably already realized that I'm just like Miri. So I wear braids like Miri to school. And people copy me. And they don't get it. The end. ;)
Ch. 6: Doggy Depression
No, no, not REAL depression. She's just upset for no reason at all. She won't eat. She won't do the usual (ahem). She just sits there on her bed, just giving me a funny look with those HUGE eyes of hers. Too bad dogs can't talk. :(
Ch. 7: What's up with all those artists and videos on the side? And what does CI mean?
Those artists are my favorite singers and bands. I invite anyone to check them out, and, if you do happen to like them, I have included their current singles. Not all singles have videos to them, but I have included at least the song (with help from YouTube). "CI" means "currently inactive", meaning that the artist doesn't have any new stuff from this year. I will also have a Video of the Week. The VotW will always be one of my favorites, so look for it every week!
Ch. 8: Future Reviews
I know, my name is bookbutterfly. But it doesn't mean that I will just have book reviews. I'm not sure whether I should review a book or a movie next (I will eventually do them both), but I'm wondering what you guys want: a book or movie? Also, later this week, I'm thinking of doing a CD review, so expect another new outline soon!
Ch. 9: Country Heart
"Country Heart", or CH, is my writing "company". No, not a real company, just one that I made up. I have a logo and all that, which I'll show later. But I know that several of you have been wanting to read my songs. I'm sure you all know this one:
Hurt
Everyone feels it now and then
Those times when you wanna hide in a den
You'll wonder how'd I get here, how?
Here's the facts, I'm gonna tell you now
When your heart is broken, you really shatter
When you cry, it feels like rain going a-patter
And when you feel that shot of pain
You know you're hurt, oh, everytime you're hurt
Try to run away from that tornado
Never be your friend, always your foe
Sure, ther are ways to stow it away
Maybe just for a day
Hurt may break you down, now
But what it don't will build you up
Everyone feels it now and then
Those times you wanna hide...
Ooh, you know you're hurt...
The next is one of my favorites. (It has guitar chords to it, which I'll post another time) Obviously, it is NOT based on experience (the only one that really has is "Hurt"). I based it off of Taylor Swift's "Our Song". (I'll include the video for these songs at the bottom) Can you guess the meaning?
Radio
I sat down, my favorite pencil at hand
While dreaming of having my very own band
Before I know it, words and music are at my fingertips
And I'm singing it along my lips
He looks it over, he's singing it, too
And he says,
I'll be sitting here in this kitchen
While you go tourin' cross-country, and I'm all alone
I'll be searching among all that staticky din
For your voice of an angel on the radio, yeah
Everyone chases their dreams for awhile
Go our different ways, our own miles
Platinum albums, tour buses, too many broken hearts to mend
My microphone is my only loyal friend
I just wanna sit in my old kitchen
Instead of touring cross-country all alone
I'll search among all that staticky din
For his voice of an angel on the radio
Radio, oh, yeah
After another Nashville concert, same old, same old
Why do people treat my name like gold?
Heard that voice of an angel say, "Look like you doin' well"
I saw him right there, next thing you know, them wedding bells
So when we're in our 100s, we'll sit in this kitchen
While our great-granddaughter is touring cross-country, not so alone
We'll search among all that staticky din
For her voice of an angel, oh, for her voice of an angel, oh for her voice of an angel, on the radio, oh, oh, yeah
Ch. 10: Dancing With the Stars
Does anyone watch this show? I do!!!!! If you do, who are you rooting for, and who do you think will win? I love how they've brought REAL stars on the show, not ones that you've never heard of.
The Best Newbery Book EVER
PRINCESS ACADEMY by Shannon Hale
Plot: Miri Larendaughter has been living in Danland’s quarry mountain village, Mt. Eskel, for all her fourteen years. While her widower Pa and older sister Marta head to the quarry to carve out the valuable linder, Miri tends her family goats, as she is forbidden from quarry work. She is convinced that she is of no use to the village, until, one day, it is announced that Mt. Eskel is the home of the Prince’s bride, and all young ladies, from 12 to 17, are to be taught and disciplined in an academy. Miri is unwilling to go, especially since she will be without her family and will no longer see her closest friend, Peder, often. The next day, all of Mt. Eskel’s girls are rounded up and marched to the academy, where Miri encounters several obstacles, including the cruelty of their tutor, Olana, and the unkindness of the other academy girls. Tutor Olana teaches the girls reading, writing, conversation, poise, and diplomacy to name a few, but her discipline is harsh, as she slaps the girls’ palms at the slightest misbehaviors, and locks them in a dark closet if they stand up for themselves.
*SPOILER ALERT!*
Because of these hard times, Miri discovers her gift to read, write, and even quarry-speak outside of the mountain. Quarry-speaking is a form of communication among the people of Mt. Eskel using songs and memories as they chisel away at the linder. Slowly, Miri gains her confidence in quarry-speaking and becoming Academy Princess, the top of the class, which is a greater honor than to be chosen by the Prince! Using her gifts, Miri is able to help her classmates succeed, and reaches her goal of Academy Princess. Along the way, she becomes close friends with 14-year-old Esa, Peder’s sister who has one lame arm; Frid, a strong 16-year-old who is respected by everyone for her family’s generosity; and Britta, a shy 15-year-old lowlander who has a totally different background from the others. After being chosen as Academy Princess, Miri meets the Prince, and is torn apart: does she really want to marry Prince Stefan and become a lowlander, or stay at Mt. Eskel where Peder is? At the climax of the book, bandits invade the academy and hold the girls and Olana captive. But with the help of quarry-speech, Miri is able to call for help to the villagers at home, and the villains are shooed away or killed (to say in the least; this part was written so much better in the book). Afterwards, Britta reveals to Miri her secret: she is in love with the prince, Stefan, and was sent to Mt. Eskel by her father, who faked his death, so that Britta could marry the Prince. In the end, Prince Stefan chooses Britta as his bride; in addition, Miri gets together with Peder, who shares the same feelings as her.
BB Beliefs: This is such a good book, that I can’t even describe it! The characters so real, you feel like you know them; the setting, though fictional, seems so close to home. And the writing is simply beautiful. I wish I had Shannon Hale's lyrical skills and talent in writing, and, if she ever reads this, I’d like to say that I totally admire the quarry-songs at the beginning of each chapter!
Because of PA, I have actual become quite delusional and am now convinced that I can quarry-speak! It is so hard not to like this novel and not get into it. Don’t get me started about how much I love this book! Basically, anyone who is trying to discover who they are and what they’re good at must read this. It is no wonder it won the Newbery Honor, and I am so surprised it didn’t win the Newbery Medal. But Shannon Hale shall soon. Mark. My. Words. And if you’re backing away from reading PA just because of the title, DON’T. I did that for two years,I really did. (but that’s a whole other story, which I might tell in my next post) Lesson learned: Never judge a book by its title. NEVER.
Experiences: In the book, Miri was ostracized by her fellow classmates and was often alone; however this gave her time to study, read, write, and find her inner self. Throughout most of the books, she struggles to be Academy Princess. When I read this book, it was a few months after I had gone through similar events. No, I didn’t have to tend goats at home, or fight off bandits. I had tried so hard to be Valedictorian (or, as you can say, Academy Princess) in the previous year and was in constant competition with several of my classmates. On top of this, I didn’t have the easiest time “fitting in” and meeting new friends, since I was the “new girl” at the time. Luckily, all’s well that ends well, and I did become Valedictorian (yippee!) and I met fabulous, fantastic friends (you all know who you are, and I want to thank you so much for being the greatest pals ever) along the way. So if you ever ask me why I say Miri is like my fictional twin, here is your answer.
Age: This book is appropriate for any age, at the youngest, 9. But if I read this book as a 9 year old, I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much. The best age to really enjoy PA in my opinion is 11.
Author Biography: Shannon Bryner Hale, born January 26, 1974, began writing since the age of 10. Before earning her Bachelors Degree at the University of Utah and her Masters Degree in Creative Writing at the University of Montana, she studied in Mexico and the UK, and was even an unpaid Mormon missionary in Paraguay. Afterwards, she pursued acting careers in stage, TV, and improv comedy. In 2000, she married Dean Hale, and thereafter had two children: Max (b. 2003) and Magnolia, aka Maggie (b. 2006). The Hales, along with a plastic “pet” pig, live in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her works are The Goose Girl (2003), Enna Burning (2004), Princess Academy (2005), River Secrets (2006), Austenland (2007), and Book of a Thousand Days (2007), all of which contain her signature lyrical writing. Shaniacs, LRRH-ers, and Shan-fans alike are anticipating Rapunzel’s Revenge (August 2008, this is a graphic novel), Forest-born (an accompaniment to The Books of Bayern, which are GG, EB, and RS), The Actor and the Housewife (her second adult novel), and an unnamed YA sci-fi novel. To this very day, she entertains her fans with comedy, interviews, and updates on her novels on her blog, Squeetus.
The 101 and 411 on BB Reviews
BOOK TITLE by Author Name (there will be a picture of the book cover on the side)
Summary: I'm going to be doing a whole summary of the book, and will include
*SPOILER ALERT*
spoilers with a warning like above. The font will be slightly smaller, and I will put up the spoiler alert when I am speaking of a total give-away of the story.
BB Beliefs: This is the part where I talk about how much I loved, liked, or hated the book. My personal opinions go here. 'Nuff said, right?
Experiences: This is probably a vague title for this section, but it basically means how I found out about the book and how much I, or other readers, can relate to it.
Age: This means, basically, not only what age it is appropriate for, but what age would enjoy this book.
Author Biography: I thought I'd be a little schnazzy and add an author bio. It might be repetitive, b/c I will probably do same authors many times (hint hint...)
Awards: This is the stuff you can probably find on Google, Wikipedia, or on the author's site, but it will look neat if I really liked the book AND it turns out it is critically acclaimed, right?
Flowers: Butterflies like flowers, right? And LOTS of them, too! So a BOOKbutterfly would love novels with more flowers. This is my schnazzy rating system from 0-10 (though I don't think I'd give anything a 0...of course there was one book, but that's another story and I don't want to review it). Anything that qualifies as 10 flowers goes under the "Favorite Books" shelf on Goodreads.
Please let me know if this is too complicated for everyone, because I want my reviews to be enjoyable! Also, check out my poll and Goodreads account! Note to my dear friends who do not have a blog nor a Blogger account: you may now post freely on here, but please state your name so I know who is responding! (Am I asking too much?)
Lots of Love,
bookbutterfly :D
Tag! You're It!
Rules:
1/ you link back to the person who tagged you.
2/ post these rules on your blog.
3/ share six unimportant things about yourself.
4/ tag six random people at the end of your entry.
5/ let the tagged people know by leaving a comment on their blogs.
My random stuff:
1. I'd first like to thank Taiger for being the first to tag me
2. My mind is very blank at the moment
3. For vacation, I plan to read, write, blog, LRRH, read, write, blog, LRRH, read, write, blog, LRRH...you get it, right? Must I repeat?
4. I have a lot to say on my blog
5. I think LRRH-ers are awesome, and there should be more people like them in this world. Period. Oh, yeah, and my typing's messed up today b/c I'm typing wrong things. Like just now: I almost typed "tuiping" instead of "typing".
6. I'm a rambler. I could win an award for Best Rambler on LRRH.
I don't know who else to tag, so I'll say...Leanna, Cuileann, mimagirl, maribeth_kayla, Anidori-Isilee, and animeactress (once she gets her blog set up...yes, I'm talking to you, missy otaku!)
PS to everyone: please let me know if I left you out on my "Cool People and their Awesome Blogs" list. I do not want to leave you out!
